Voting Procedures for Proposed 2008-2013
Contract
· Voting on the proposed contract will begin on Thursday, October 9 at 12:45 PM during a special membership meeting in Life Science 113. It will continue from 2 PM through 10 PM on Thursday and from 8 AM to 5 PM on Friday, October 10. Polls will close at 5 PM Friday, October 10. Members who are unable to be on campus should read the procedures described below under Absentee Ballots.
· All dues paying members in good standing are eligible to vote. To be in good standing, a member must either be signed up to pay dues though payroll deduction or have made a lump-sum payment for the year's contribution. .
· Voting Procedures for at the ballot box. You will receive a small envelope, a big envelope, and a ballot. .
1. Please mark your ballot "Yes" or "No."
2. Place your marked ballot in the small envelope and seal it.
3. Place the small envelope in the big envelope and seal the big envelope.
4. On the larger (outer) envelope, please print and sign your name.
5. Return the envelope to the teller to be deposited in the ballot box.
If your name is NOT on the roll but you
think you are a UDMPU member in good standing, you may cast a provisional
ballot. Please put the words
“Provisional“ on your outer envelope. The tellers will contact the Membership
Director (Treasurer Kris McLonis) and will resolve
the issue. If possible, please include a
phone number and/or e-mail address where we can contact you.

Absentee
Ballots. If
you are not able to be on the McNichols campus on
10/9 or 10/10, you may vote by “mail”.
Please print a copy of the ballot from ballot08.pdf. Cut the ballot in two and mark it. To protect the privacy of your vote, please
place your ballot in a standard small size envelope and seal the envelope. Do not sign the small envelope, but return it
in a larger envelope with your printed name and signature. Return to a member of the elections

The counting of ballots will begin at 5 PM on
Friday 10/9. The counting will be open
for any UDMPU members to observe. The
